The Ken Galluccio Cup (KGC) is the most prestigious club tournament in European lacrosse. Serving as the official European Club Championship for Field Lacrosse, this annual event brings together the reigning domestic champions from across the European Lacrosse Federation's (ELF) member nations to compete for the ultimate continental title in both men's and women's field lacrosse. The tournament showcases the highest level of club-tier competition while honoring the legacy of Ken Galluccio, one of the most influential pioneers of European lacrosse development.
Unlike the European Championships, which feature national teams, the Ken Galluccio Cup is the exclusive stage for the continent's top club teams. Only clubs that have secured the championship title in their respective domestic leagues earn the right to compete against Europe's elite. The tournament seamlessly combines fierce, high-level athletic rivalry with the deeply rooted culture and community of the European club scene.
The tournament is named in memory of Ken Galluccio, a visionary pioneer whose profound passion and tireless dedication fundamentally shaped the landscape of modern European lacrosse. As a central figure in founding the German Lacrosse Association and a driving force within the broader European community, Ken championed the growth of the sport from the grassroots up. Following his untimely passing in 2009, the European Club Championships were permanently renamed in his honor. This dedication ensures that his legacy of sportsmanship, inclusivity, and commitment to club-tier excellence continues to inspire every generation of athletes that takes the field.
