The ELF Appoints Coaching Coordinator

30.01.2009

With the rapid growth of lacrosse in Europe and the excitement around the sport we are witnessing at the moment, it is essential to stay focused and ensure that key areas essential to the development of the sport are done properly. One of these areas is coaching. In order to ensure that this area gets the focus it deserves and needs, the ELF recently decided to create a role who will not only be the single point of contact for coaching matters in Europe, but also a role that will take on the following tasks:

  • Be on top of coaching challenges and opportunities throughout the continent
  • Roll out European and support national lacrosse camps
  • Ensure sharing of best practices and lessons learned in relation to coaching, camps and development of players

The ELF has appointed Henning Schmidt as its first ever European Coaching Coordinator - a role which covers both men's and women's lacrosse. Henning is originally from Bremen, Germany, but currently lives and works in London. Henning has years of experience as coach as well as camp organizer from Germany, the UK and Bulgaria and has already established a pool of very experienced and motivated coaches to help and support your club or your country. Illustrating Henning's own motivation and drive is the fact that he has already completed an event in Sofia, Bulgaria, and he is currently busy assessing opportunities and planning camps for the whole of 2009.

Henning's contact email is coaching@europeanlacrosse.org, so please get in touch with Henning and let him know how the ELF can support you in taking your club or league to the next level. Also, the ELF calls to all qualified and/or experienced coaches considering travelling a bit around Europe to coach lacrosse to contact Henning as well.
