Lacrosse Introduction in Belgium

This past weekend saw the introduction of lacrosse in Belgium. A group of enthusiasts had taken the initiative to look further into the possibilities of starting up a lacrosse club – the first of its kind in Belgium – and an event was organized together with the ELF in Rijmenam (near Mechelen).

The event started out with a presentation of the history of lacrosse and an overview of the growth of the game in Europe. Following this the game itself was explained and a mini-clinic was held at a field nearby.

The day was rounded up at a local café (Café bij Linda) where lacrosse stories were shared while enjoying Belgian specialties.

The ELF would like to thank Kristof De Smet for taking the initiative to start up a lacrosse club in Rijmenam and Roald de Groot of Den Haag Lacrosse for helping out with the event.
